AWANA

What is AWANA?   AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, from 2 Timothy 2:15.

The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.  Our club will help train your children to walk in God's pathways, rather than those of the world.

Our AWANA clubs are part of a worldwide ministry headquartered in Streamwood, Illinois.

The AWANA Clubs at Cornerstone is built around club meetings on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 to 8 PM.

The club meets most weeks during the traditional school year except on holiday weeks.

Club nights are divided into three main components:
Game Time
Handbook Time
Large Group Time

While AWANA has many things to interest boys and girls, such as games and special activities, the heart of the program is Bible memory work.

The clubber handbooks contain an average of 90 verses, which have been carefully chosen in order to establish doctrinal truths.

Trained leadership will find many opportunities to apply these truths to the daily experiences of the clubber.  The extensive award system, uniforms and handbooks are primarily designed to motivate the memorization of scriptures.
